How you can help

Laura Winter, Executive Director - Logon for Learning, Inc.

After 25 years in “corporate America”, mostly in management positions involving the planning, development and implementation of strategic and tactical technology-based initiatives, Laura is taking her broad-based experience and applying it to the education sector with the startup of Logon for Learning.

Laura has been fortunate in her business experience to work with innovative products – from online banking in the 1980’s (pre-internet) to check cashing ATMs to interactive web sites - she has been in front of many technology initiatives and is passionate about using and seeing technology as a tool to help people.

She has demonstrated leadership ability to operate successfully in business, technical, education and non-profit environments to bring about desired change.  Her efforts have been recognized by ComputerWorld Honors Society; by the White House with the coveted Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership, the only presidential award acknowledging corporations for community relations and employee engagement along with other media recognition for programs that she has directed – most notably the ON_DEC program sponsored by JPMorgan Chase.

Nancy Brogan, Ed.D, School Leadership Consultant

Nancy Mulholland Brogan, a St. John’s University doctoral recipient was the principal of Ditmas I.S.62 in community school district 20 in Brooklyn, New York after years of being both an Assistant Principal and classroom teacher.  With support from the Annenberg Foundation, she led a team of teachers in 1992 to restructure Ditmas into four small learning communities. In addition, she brought numerous partnerships and collaborations to Ditmas including Classroom, Inc., Co-nect, Facing History and Ourselves, King’s County District Attorney’s Office, Mercy College, Teacher’s College at Columbia University to name a few of the many community groups working with the school.  Dr. Brogan inspired and supported teachers to lead school reform efforts in order to improve student outcomes.  In 2000, the ultimate partnership was formed with JPMorgan Chase under a program called ON_DEC (Our Neighborhood Digital Education Community). ON_DEC has provided thousands of students and their families with computers and internet access at home;  the partnership networked the school building and provided all staff members with laptops and professional development transforming Ditmas into a 21st century school house.

Having recently retired as principal, Nancy now helps other school leaders through workshops, direct support to schools and her tireless efforts to represent their needs at all levels of the educational system - especially in terms of new data and accountability requirements.
